Wild Times at The Drive-In

New one in honor of the holiday I make the most illustrations about and the Elmira Drive-In, and just drive-ins in general. I miss the days of hanging out there and watching some b-grade, and sometimes top shelf, horror double feature. And some probably fondly recall going there to make out with someone for hours.

This was originally intended to be a straight forward landscape painting but I couldn't resist adding all this mayhem. The drive-in is a mash up of several looks that they've had over the years. There are some nods to favorite films of mine and then just general nonsense that I associate with the genres. Detail pics below.

I WANT TO BELIEVE Farewell Lorimer St. t-shirt

Gimme! Coffee on Lorimer St. holds a special place in my life, and like so many of its customers that stopped in every day, numerous times a day, I've felt the massive weight of its sudden absence like a collapsing star in my heart. Soo, I went and got some t-shirts made for everyone.

This is a second run, and a slightly updated version, of a collab between myself and Williamsburg's favorite coffee shop. This new X-Files inspired tee has a bonus message across the back to honor Lorimer St. passing into the great beyond that includes the years it reigned over all from 2003-2020, and our crew's favorite constructive critique: "Only disgusting people drink coffee here."

After the incredible outpouring of generosity from the barista relief fund I've decided to take all the profits from the shirt sales and distribute them to North Star Fund, NAACP, OKRA Project, Feeding America, and the Rwanda Landslide Relief Fund which will help coffee farmers impacted from the recent mudslides and flooding.

PRE-SALE HAS ENDED!!!! Thank you to everyone who placed an order. Info on shipping to follow.

The original shirt and a-frame from years back are pictured below for nostalgia sake.

Sunsets and Flying Saucers

There are a couple of new t-shirts floating around in the world with my work on them as of this week. First up, here's the one I did for the band, Earnhardt, a couple months ago. Thanks again to my bud, Adam, for asking me to do these for the band.

Next up, here's the X-Files inspired one I recently did for all the baristas (myself included) at Gimme! Coffee, and a small batch for some devoted customers. This one has a little soft spot in my heart. In 2014 I did a quick a-frame drawing of the cappuccino cup and saucer flying over the trees in place of the UFO from the famous "I want to believe" poster that hangs in Agent Fox Mulder's office. Some people really really loved this one and have been asking about a t-shirt of it since then. It took 2 years but we finally whipped some up for them, with some minor adjustments to the original drawing. They are available for $25 at the Gimme! Coffee on Lorimer St. Sizes range from S-L. A big thanks to Pete's Print Shop for these.

Original drawing below.

New New

Just a little something for fun. Is it a famous movie quote? Is it folklore? Is anybody reading this?

My friends threw a party for their documentary and invited a few people to hang their work for a one night show. I was one of those people. Click on the link below to marvel at all their hard work and determination. If you love Kevin Bacon or Paul Erdos then maybe donate some money to the cause.

Still trying to make pet portraits cool. Check out this little guy and his UFO.

When a copy of Jaws sits in your DVD player for a week you may be tempted to watch it 3 or 4 times. You may also be tempted to do some little riff on the famous cover for an a-frame that advertises coffee.
