I started making this piece right before shit hit the fan back in March. It was originally intended to be about the complete lack of class influencers have when it comes to selling themselves and others out on social media. Now, seeing how our government has decided to throw small businesses overboard, I feel like this just sums up how the majority of us are feeling while money for small business is being offered up to companies who surely don't need 20 million. As much as I criticize social media, I kinda wonder, would these companies have given that money back if they hadn't been publicly outed for digging so deep into a relief fund for companies with fewer than 500 employees. Hmmm. Anyways, the influencers are still out there being tacky as hell through all of this.

Final week for "Character and Narrative"

It's the final week to see "Character and Narrative" at the Foothills Art Center in Golden, CO. The show wraps up on Sunday the 20th at 5pm so get yourself there before then if you haven't seen it yet. Here's one of the last few pieces from my body of work. 

Everything Must Go!

New one for fun. July was a fairly quiet month in terms of freelance work so it was nice to dive back into the pit of personal projects. Still trying to incorporate that love of all things neon into the usual way I work.

Satan Likes it Hot!

Whipped up this one recently. It's been on my mind for a while and has gone through several revisions in my sketchbook. At first I imagined it as some sort of flash tattoo type of illustration but as it usually happens, I felt the need to flesh it out even more. I don't remember what inspired it but as I've been working on it, the thought of nasty customers from my past service industry jobs and current one have definitely fueled the process. I'm hoping to tighten up this mix of neon light and the way I usually work into a cohesive body of work. Possibly for a show with one of my friends. Wink. Wink.

Home Sweet Home

New poster for Jonathan Toubin but, surprise! It's not for the Soul Clap parties. This is for his weekly gig at Home Sweet Home, over in Chinatown. We are gonna attempt something a little different with these ones; They will be done quarterly, I think weekly would kill me, and they will be printed out as handbills, instead of just advertised online. Jonathan wanted to give people something they can hang onto and tack on their walls at home, or tuck aside as a memento from their wild and crazy nights dancing it up in the big, bad city. Still believin' in the importance of the tactile. All the info is on the poster so you know where to be on Friday nights. Process pics below.

Pig Roast Poster for The Meat Hook

I quickly whipped this poster up for the gang at The Meat Hook for the pig roast they'll be having at Good Co Bar in Brooklyn. They've kept me well fed with their amazing sandwiches so I had to help them out with something. The event goes down on July 11th from 5-10pm. Tickets are available on the Good Co Facebook page.
