Must. Keep. Drawing.

New image for the main page on my website and business cards. Below is a pic that shows what the back of the cards look like and what I originally intended the front of the card to look like. Decided it was too much for a business card so I covered up all that smokey lookin' detail.

Made an image for the disc golf team, The Swamp Divers, to print on their paraphernalia. Below is a shot of my false start. Gotta pay attention.

I was listening to the Tom Waits album Real Gone the other day and as the track, Make it Rain was playing, I just started sketching out some of the lyrics. This was the one I liked the most.

Always liked this saying.

R.I.P. Dave Weaver

I got to know Dave and a bunch of other dudes from Buffalo around the time I was 17 and started going on weekend trips to skate up there. Dave was such a solid dude, always fun to be around and I can't think of one time he was being negative or bummin' anyone out. Unfortunately, I didn't see him too much in the last few years, but I will always cherish the time I did get to hang out and skate with him. Here's Dave doin' what he loved to do.

An interview Dave did while he was goin' through treatment:

Keep on Keepin' On

Tattoo ideas, but not for me. I've been tossing around the idea of starting to make some flash sheets from these and other sketches I have laying around. Always liked that South Park where Death is pursuing the kids and Stan's grandpa on a tricycle.

Richard Lewis

Kate Bush. Drew her a few times and always made her look older than she is in the photo.

Ray Davies

I just really liked the colors on Billy Crudup's face in this shot from the movie Jesus' Son

Scott Walker, from the cover of the documentary 30 Century Man

"Boy, I got vision, and the rest of the world wears bifocals."

These last two are from a selection of notes I have that would probably be best titled as, "Weird Shit That Has Been Said to my Friends on The Streets of New York." I've encountered characters everywhere, but the ones in NYC really take the cake. The bottom one made me feel so gross while I was working on it. It was hilarious hearing the story, but drawing it was pretty rough. Luckily, I won't have to look at it much because I plan on giving these away to the people that have told me the stories.

Happy Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving and time for a dose of Alice's Restaurant. I'm not sure if playing this song on Thanksgiving is considered "played out" but I don't really care.

Surfing the Rat

My friend had an unfortunate experience biking to work in Brooklyn one early morning, when a rat decided to make a break for it but tragically collided with his front tire, jamming itself in between rubber and concrete for a few terrifying seconds. After some horrible squealing and squeaking, the rat shot out from under his tire and my friend could continue on to work, shaken no doubt, but eager to tell his tale. And that is where, "Surfing the Rat" was born.

The Mission Continues

More sketches from the mission to draw every day for a year.

Marc Maron

Moon Zappa

Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices. I know this will only draw attention, but try and disregard that horrible little self-portrait.

Lindsey Buckingham. Rumors-era and Tusk-era.

Linda and Charles Bukowski.

All day. Every day.

I've been on a mission to draw every single day for the next year. It's like a new years resolution for me in a way. I read an interview with a pro skateboarder that was going through getting comfortable on his board again after an injury and it inspired to get on a mission. I started off with drawing some of my favorite moments in horror movies, or just characters from my favorite horror movies. I did this all the way 'til Halloween and the rest are just from the past few days.
