Prison Rodeo

A recent logo I did for the DJ, PRISON RODEO. As you can tell by the logo the music leans strongly into the outlaw country genre so we cooked up something that would echo those 70's aesthetics when Willie, Kris, Merle, Waylon, and Johnny Paycheck (coolest name ever) were changing the game. Check his instagram @prison.rodeo if you wanna catch where he'll be slinging country tunes, which seems like a rare treat in NYC.

Left Field

New illustration for the 20 year anniversary of Queens-based menswear company Left Field. There's a big influence from the coal mining gear and tough workwear worn in the 20th century so I tried to make this look a little gritty by putting some charcoal down and just smudging it all over the coal miner. I feel like my work used to look way dirtier years ago and at first I was a little bummed that it's been looking cleaner but I think I've just learned to restrain myself and try to use certain materials on a piece when it calls for it. Anyways, it was fun to rub some charcoal all over this one. It was also brutally hot the whole week I worked on this and I feel like that really crept into the look of this poster. Every time I look at this illustration now I just feel the oppressive heat of summer days in the city. Passengers Cafe

An old coworker/a damn good friend moved From Brooklyn to Cleveland last year and in his absence there has been a void, both emotionally and creatively. We collaborated and brainstormed on many projects together when we both worked at Gimme Coffee and I've missed his creative energy. I know for the past year he has been busy working on opening a cafe in Cleveland and eventually he asked me to help him create an illustration for him to use on some store merch. Although the creative process wasn't us sitting in a musty basement and giggling for hours, it was fun to collaborate with him again. The dude has been hard at work and I'm stoked to help him out with some of my drawing skills so, without further ado, I give you PASSENGERS CAFE. The cafe just opened last week and is located in the lobby of the Cleveland Hostel. Be sure to pop in when you're in downtown Cleveland.

This project went through a lot of brainstorming and sketch phases but we eventually decided on some sort of passenger pigeon image. Lot of process pics below.
